Different types of shaft attachment methods are available. We will introduce the common attachment methods below:
- Set screw type
The two set screws feature a 90 degree angle. They are tightened for fastening the coupling to the shaft. The method is a traditional attachment type. Because the screw points directly contact the shaft, it may damage the shaft or make it difficult to remove the shaft from the coupling. - Clamping type
Tighten the socket head cap screws to contract the bore for clamping the shaft to the coupling. This method allows for easy attachment and removal, and it will not damage the shaft. It is a common way to fasten the coupling to the shaft. - Keyway type
The keyway type is suitable for high torque transmission. In order to avoid the slip of the shaft, it is used combined with the set screw type and clamp type. - Clamping ring type
This attachment method features taper wedge effect to allow for stable and fast fastening the coupling to the shaft. It is suitable for high torque stepping motor and servo motor. - Spline shaft type
