Automatic Can body Welder

The can body welder, also called a tinplate welding machine or can bodies welder, is the heart of any 3 piece can production line as it forms the body blanks into their basic shape, then welds the seam overlap. Our welding process requires only a minimal overlap of only a few tenths of a millimeter, and optimal control of the welding current, combined with a precision matched pressure on the overlap guarantees a matched seam that is only 1.4 times thicker than the sheet metal.

STWMF produces automatic can body welders in a variety of models and sizes, including low-speed, medium-speed and high-speed products, which can reach a maximum production capacity of 500 cans/min.

Features
  • Independently developed and uses a digital control system to precisely control the copper wire speed during welding.
  • Analogue compensation control. Weld trailing of the start and final welding points is largely decreased and overlaps are kept to about 0.5 mm. A uniform current and the same overlap ensure high quality can body welding.
  • Welding roller driving methods: direct connection servo motor driving or gear and chain driving. The first reduces driving speed errors, and the latter is utilized according to customer requirements for the final product effect.
  • Independently developed sinusoidal welding current system. Compared with a square wave welding current system, it produces a stronger welding seam.
